Senior year has always seemed like some far-away idea that only exists on paper and in eighties movies. However, I, along with the majority of my peers, have realized that I am in fact entering my last year of high school. I used to count the years I had left of school on my fingers, dreading how long it would take for me to "grow up." Now the only thing I'm counting on my fingers is the number of college applications I have left to submit.
My ISM Journey
Thankfully, I won't be forced into the world with no knowledge on how to navigate it. One of the most important classes I'm taking this year, Independent Study and Mentorship, has and will continue to prepare me for the unknown of this year. Through this class, I will pursue my topic of creative writing by doing extensive research and gaining a mentor. On top of these, I will create a final product that will contribute positively to society and myself. Last year, I was able to write and illustrate a children's book manuscript with the help of this class. This year, I plan not only to publish it, but to market it and bring it into the world of children's books.
My Guiding Quote
“"Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage." - C.S. Lewis”
The Future Awaits
I cannot wait to get started with my topic this year. I won't just focus on creative writing, but child psychology and illustration. ISM, AP Psychology, AP English Literature, and AP Art Drawing will fuel my final product and my future. After applying to colleges, I can't wait to not only enjoy my senior year, but to use it as a launchpad into college, and even my future career. The future awaits!
