Marvelous Mentor

I have finally secured a mentor, and I am so excited to begin my visits!

Late last semester, I interviewed Vicky Skinner, the lead instructor at Write On in Frisco. Write On is a writing workshop that teaches people of any age how to transfer their creativity back onto paper. I pass by it every day on my way to school, but I had never been inside the building until my research interview last month. It was very homey, and I enjoyed my interview with Mrs. Skinner immensely. I learned so much from the small amount of time I had, and I knew she would be a great candidate for a mentor. She has published two books, and started writing her first in high school at my age. This is great, because I know that she has experience writing and going through publishing at a young age like I am. She works with people while being able to write as well, which is something I love, and cannot wait to observe. Overall, I am very happy about this opportunity, and I cannot wait to have regular mentor visits with Mrs. Skinner. Write On is going to be a great place for me to grow in my ISM journey.
